DIREITOS IN CHIÚRE
DIREITOS Project Received in Session at Chiúre District Government
The DIREITOS Program was received in a session by the District Government of Chiúre, in the province of Cabo Delgado, on May 23rd, to present the objectives and implementation of the program. The session was attended by representatives of the Government and State institutions, as well as Ivan Zacarias, Field Officer from DIREITOS, Jorge Sousa, delegate from KULIMA, and a group of local activists.
Ivan Zacarias highlighted the objective of the program to government entities and introduced the selected local activists. The district government welcomed the DIREITOS Program with enthusiasm and scheduled a new session to discuss the harmonization of efforts aimed at effective implementation.
Last week, the DIREITOS program was also presented to the community leadership of the Junta and Murrapaniua neighborhoods, in Nampula province. Community representatives recognized the importance of the program and promised support for its activities. They also requested that the program be expanded to more remote areas of the province, where there is a complete lack of knowledge of human rights, exacerbating violations.
