A webinar hosted by CONCORD Europe warns of a concerning trend in European Union funding: a growing portion of funds is being channeled through indirect management mechanisms. This shift reduces direct access for NGOs and limits transparency regarding who is actually implementing the programs.
The data presented reveals that 62% of funding is channeled through intermediaries, only 10% is explicitly reserved for civil society and 70% of funds have limited traceability. For NGOs in Mozambique, the takeaway is clear: it is essential to intervene earlier by influencing programming processes and advocating for funding modalities that are more transparent, inclusive, and accessible.
JOINT is actively working toward this goal and invites all Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to engage in a collective effort to defend the sustainability of civic space.
JOINT – the League of NGOs in Mozambique advocates for the democratization of information to improve access to funding and other resources vital to a dynamic civil society.Invite other associations to stay informed: Access our Bulletin via WhatsApp here: https://chat.whatsapp.com/FgnPNmKB55OKqlf2BCiKfM
