JOINT Participates in UNICEF Training on Child Protection in Post-Election Contexts

JOINT-League of NGOs in Mozambique was among the civil society organizations that participated in the Training of Trainers (ToT) on Monitoring and Response to Violence Against Children (VAC), an initiative organized by UNICEF on September 23 and 24, 2025, in Maputo.

The training, which included collaboration with partners such as the Center for Democracy and Human Rights (CDD) and the Forum for the Promotion of Child Rights (ROSC), aimed to empower participants to act more effectively in monitoring, documenting, and responding to child rights violations, with a specific focus on the context of the 2024 post-election crisis.

During the two days of work, topics covered included the UNICEF monitoring framework, standard operating procedures, ethical principles in data collection, information verification mechanisms in situations of instability, and coordination strategies with national and international agencies.

JOINT's participation in this training action reflects the organization's commitment to the promotion and protection of children's rights, particularly in crisis contexts. This capacity-building will allow JOINT to strengthen its skills in documenting cases of violence, supporting vulnerable children, and developing evidence-based programmatic responses and advocacy actions.

In this way, JOINT-League of NGOs in Mozambique reinforces its role in defending children's rights and supporting national and international child protection efforts, even in contexts of political and social instability.
